Dear Jen and the Peacock Party

I've finally made a few more blocks for my Dear Jen quilt.  This is a mystery quilt being run by Jen Kingwell from Amitie Textiles.

Very wonky, I know.

A total of 18 blocks have been released so far.  I made the first 6 quite quickly, but fell behind on month 2.  However, I decided that I'm probably not going to make every block anyway, so I picked my favourites from months 2 and 3 and made these blocks.

I'm hand piecing my blocks.  Some people are machine piecing, some are English Paper Piecing, but I'm using Jen's method of hand piecing.  I really want to improve my hand piecing, so this is good practice. However, that final one above looks pretty bad, so I may yet try it again with English Paper Piecing.

Now it's time for the Peacock Party.  Feel free to link up a recent blog post below:

Beautiful blocks! I need to improve my hand piecing too, I collected all the templates for Golden Days last year, would really like to hand piecing this, just need to decide on a colour palette!

My hand piecing is not accurate at all, I need to practice! Your blocks are pretty, lovely colors

What a lovely array of colors and unusual blocks.

I love hand-piecing, and your blocks look good! You've picked such pretty fabrics for each one. I hope you continue to enjoy participating in this mystery quilt project. I only ever participated in one, back in the mid 1990's. I found that I didn't like knowing ahead of time what I would end up with, and when I finished, I didn't much like my quilt. I figured out quickly that mystery quilts aren't for me.

I like all your blocks - I'm saving all the patterns as I am making so many right now I am just not starting another at the moment

Your blocks look so good. I especially like the second from the last one.

I like your blocks and admire your perseverance! I find hand piecing SO SLOW, I get tired of it easily.

All lovely blocks but the fabric in your first block is stunning, the magenta daffodils are so bright.
