My good friends Connie and Rick at The Kings Fancy rushed me two more yards of the border fabric because I had miscalculated. That certainly won't ever happen again!!
I used Effervescence by Amelia Caruso for Robert Kaufman for my borders and it works perfectly for my quilt.
It's Friday here today, and tomorrow is my Kaffe Fasset class in Wellington, NZ. I'm taking this quilt to show Kaffe and Brandon because it contains many Kaffe Fasset fabrics. Yesterday I counted 19 different fabrics from their range, and I've used many of them more than once.
You can read all my other posts about la passacaglia on the tab at the top of the page.

I hope you have a wonderful class! You are just glowing and as radiant as your quilt in the next to last photo. What a beautiful finished quilt top, with amazing timing. :)
Looks absolutely fabulous! I love how the borders accent the quilt without taking away from it. I can't wait to see it quilted up!
Yay! Done in plenty of time for tomorrow's class and you even had time to take photos! Looks amazing!

Wendy you must be delighted with this amazing quilt, have a good time meeting Kaffe and I am sure he will be delighted with your quilt too
Truly beautiful.
This is so fantastic! I love hexies, and Margaret sent me here. And I so love it. I'll come back soon to study the whole process.
Wow, I wasn't aware how big your La Pas is. It looks fantastic. Have a great class tomorrow.
Gorgeous quilt top! How do you plan to quilt it?
Oh Wendy, it's wonderful!
You looked rightly thrilled with this quilt. So nice to see quilt with quilter! It is stunning and it's been great fun watching it develop. You are right the border fabric is such a perfect foil for it. Just a 'few' more hours quilting now....
It. Is. Beautiful! I can't wait to see and hear what Kaffe Fasset says about it! I hope you get lots of pictures!!! Congrats.
Wow, it looks fabulous.
so glad you were able to get the border fabric needed to finish - that fabric was just made to be a border for that quilt - it is wonderful.
They are all going to be gob smacked when they see this beauty. They just might as well sit right down and let you do the class! LOL! Have fun.
WOW is all I can say.
That is truly a work of art and deserves that big smile on your face. Enjoy your time ate the workshop and lecture. I loved it when I took mine with them many years ago.
Congrats on a spectacular quilt. The border is the perfect finish. Show Kaffe your quilt with pride!
Da hast du ein einmaliges Meisterwerk geschaffen.
Wunderschön und beweist wie viel Geduld du hast .

Sure would love to hear the details of what Kaffe and Brandon thought! Turned out beautiful!
Oh my goodness Wendy what an amazing effort. That quilt is absolutely mind blowing. I have just had your blog pointed out to me by a friend and I will be following regularly now. Your work is truly beautiful and your needlework leaves me in awe.
Thank you for sharing it all.
This is a gorgeous quilt. I have a lot of Kaafe fabrics; in fact, I have made myself promise that I will not buy any more of them until I use what I have, so I would love to have some guidance on how to use them so beautifully.
I just 'found' you on FB with a pic of this quilt. And I have to say this is the most beautiful quilt I have ever seen! I can't wait to browse through your blog to see others. What a talent!
I showed my friend Laurel your IG post about this fabric and we stood and looked at the different bolts of it long and hard, but couldn't make a decision. I'm definitely considering this, but I want to get my quilt finished and put together before I decide on a border. You've inspired me once again!!

You have me so motivated to start my la passacaglia. I was wondering how you attached your outer border to the floral border or is the floral and black one fabric used as the border? Gorgeous work. I can't wait to get started.
Glad to see you proud as punch! Such a rewarding effort over the last year to get this far. The border adds another dimension. Sure hope it's a keeper for yourself. No doubt the hand quilting will be ever so rewarding as well. Sometimes you have to look back at quilts and mouth the words, "WOW".
I just found your picture on Pinterest it is stunning. I love your border fabric it is the perfect way to frame you masterpiece. It is so fun to see quilts from all over the world. I am from Canada. Thank-you for the eye candy today
