la passacaglia has borders now

In the never ending story of my la passacaglia, it now has all four borders on it and is ready to be turned into a quilt sandwich for hand quilting.

My good friends Connie and Rick at The Kings Fancy rushed me two more yards of the border fabric because I had miscalculated.  That certainly won't ever happen again!!

I used Effervescence by Amelia Caruso for Robert Kaufman for my borders and it works perfectly for my quilt.

It's Friday here today, and tomorrow is my Kaffe Fasset class in Wellington, NZ.  I'm taking this quilt to show Kaffe and Brandon because it contains many Kaffe Fasset fabrics.  Yesterday I counted 19 different fabrics from their range, and I've used many of them more than once.

You can read all my other posts about la passacaglia on the tab at the top of the page.

You looked rightly thrilled with this quilt. So nice to see quilt with quilter! It is stunning and it's been great fun watching it develop. You are right the border fabric is such a perfect foil for it. Just a 'few' more hours quilting now....

so glad you were able to get the border fabric needed to finish - that fabric was just made to be a border for that quilt - it is wonderful.

This is a gorgeous quilt. I have a lot of Kaafe fabrics; in fact, I have made myself promise that I will not buy any more of them until I use what I have, so I would love to have some guidance on how to use them so beautifully.

I just 'found' you on FB with a pic of this quilt. And I have to say this is the most beautiful quilt I have ever seen! I can't wait to browse through your blog to see others. What a talent!

I showed my friend Laurel your IG post about this fabric and we stood and looked at the different bolts of it long and hard, but couldn't make a decision. I'm definitely considering this, but I want to get my quilt finished and put together before I decide on a border. You've inspired me once again!!

You have me so motivated to start my la passacaglia. I was wondering how you attached your outer border to the floral border or is the floral and black one fabric used as the border? Gorgeous work. I can't wait to get started.

Glad to see you proud as punch! Such a rewarding effort over the last year to get this far. The border adds another dimension. Sure hope it's a keeper for yourself. No doubt the hand quilting will be ever so rewarding as well. Sometimes you have to look back at quilts and mouth the words, "WOW".
