I've completed my top, but it will be some months before I can hand quilt it. It's too hot for hand quilting here at the moment. Summer is in full swing.
When I do get to hand quilt it, I'll be using these beautiful Aurifil threads. This is Aurifil 12wt and it's what I intend to use on this quilt.
I'm pleased that I managed to stick with the original colours I picked out for this quilt.
It's been a learning experience making this quilt. I learnt a lot of quilting tips and tricks along the way, but I also learnt that making a mystery quilt during November and December probably isn't for me . Next year I will just sit back and watch what everyone else does, and download the pattern after the event if I really like the quilt.

I am sure Bonnie will be glad to see your version. I love the tree of life border fabric how appropriate. I have never used Aurifil 12wt but I have heard so many great things that I must order some. Looking forward to how you will quilt this when the day comes.
Congratulations on getting the top completed. It looks great! I always just sit back and download all the instructions of Bonnie's mystery quilt. I am now in the process of making GF because I really like this one. ;^)
Wendy... I love your finished flimsy!! And the threads you plan to use on it... the striped ending is very attractive! I have too long a list to participate myself as well and would rather print off the patterns I like after the reveal.. I am just not into doing mysteries yet but love the reveal for everyone else.. esp when ... like you did there are a few who do their own thing with the pieces made :D Totally lovely thanks for sharing your wonderful border finish here too <3

Very pretty - yes BH loves to challenge quilters at the wrong time. Best to see if one likes the quilt before making it! I like to know where I am going!

I also did Bonnie Hunters mystery. It will be another month before it is quilted. I chose specific colours, a wedding quilt for my grand daughter. So blue/green, bright pink, purple, lime green and neutrals.
I like the way you changed the design to make it your own. Quilting when it's hot isn't fun. Happy Stitching!
I like to see creative ways of assembling mystery quilts. I think your end result looks terrific.
November and December are a little busy with the silly season, so I am really impressed that you finished this. The lovely vibrancy of the fabrics you chose really shows in the close-up photos.
