However, I did finish my canvas work Fandango Sky recently, and I even got it framed too. This piece includes a wide variety of canvas work stitches.
Fandango Sky |
Fandango Sky is a pattern from the Impressionist Collection by Laura J Perin. I love her designs, and could easily choose another 5 I'd like to do. This design called for some threads that I hadn't used before. I now love Fyre Werks Soft Sheen, which is the bright orange used in long lengths.
Here are some other designs by Laura J Perin that I've stitched in the past. I take all of my embroidery to the same framer at Porirua, and they are helping me to keep the frames similar.

Laura has designed some Christmas patterns too. This was one large pattern, but I broke it up and made Christmas decorations instead.
My mum has stitched this wreath by Laura J Perin and I'd love to do it myself one day too. The bow is made from beautiful velvet threads.

You and your mother are amazing. Stunning pieces!
Wow! Some beautiful work here, Wendy, from you and your Mum. That velvet bow looks real! I'm not an embroidery expect ( can do blanket stitc, lazy daisies and satin stitc etc but not PROPER embroidery like these). The frames are fabulous, they reflect the work and draw your eye to it even more.

Beautiful, really! I just started embroidering and am so passionate about it but I was wondering if there is an easy way to frame the finished pieces? Do you have a hint where I could learn how to frame embroidery?
Such beautiful needlework! I can't say whether my favorite is Fandango Sky, or your mom's wreath! I am jealous of your talent....lol.
I really enjoy following your blog. Keep up the good work.
