Members of our guild, Capital Quilters, were invited to make a scrappy bear paw quilt to celebrate our guild's 30th anniversary. Our guild's logo is the bear paw because of it's meaning as the hand of friendship.
25 members (out of a total of 180) made bear paw quilts and they all bought them to show and tell on Saturday. The hall looked lovely and very colourful.
You can see lots more photos over on the guild's blog - click here! Adrianne (from On the Windy Side) and I are keeping it up to date now, so we encourage you to check back often, or even better, become a follower via Bloglovin or your preferred feed.
Mine is just left of centre in that photo above. Here it is again in case you've forgotten.
I really enjoyed making this, knowing others in the guild were making the same style of quilt too.

love your bear paws! the colors so bright and cheerful looking.
The quilts look great and how fun to see them all together - the same but different!
What a colourful display of creativity and friendship Wendy.
A lovely display of finished Bear Paw quilts!
They all look fabulous, isn't it amazing how by changing the fabrics, the same pattern can look so different. What is next year's guild project?
what a wonderful display of bear paws, loving the colours in yours and also rather taken with the black one
I always get a kick out of displays like this one – same idea or pattern made so many different ways as each maker puts her own stamp on it.
Wonderful to see all the quilts. So nice that you have an active quilt guild with members who participate so much.
Love the variety! Your quilt is the one that inspired my bee to use the bear paw block for our guild’s (Capital Quilters Guild in Raleigh, NC) Holiday Blocks program. We made up kits with Kaffe fabric for 24 blocks and “sold” them in October to guild members. When they are finished and returned in December a winner will receive the blocks. So much fun!
They are all very magical! So attempted to make one myself.
