Have your say on Hand Quilting

This week the American Quilters' Society (AQS) is running a survey about hand quilting.  I've taken the survey, and I encourage you to do it too before Sunday 22 April.  It only takes 1-2 minutes, and our answers will let this influential body know that hand quilting is still an integral part of quilting today.

The AQS Hand Quilting survey is here.

This photo above is from when I hand quilted my Bears Paw quilt with Perle 8 cotton.

You can find previous posts I've written about Hand Quilting on the tab at the top of my blog.

It includes what threads I use, and what patterns I choose to quilt.

Please do remember to take the survey - especially if you're a hand quilter.

Thanks for this link--I did do it as I only hand quilt--in the over 15 years of quilting I have only had 3 quilts done by machine---2 of those were long armed--I just like the looks of quilts that are hand quilted--long arming they are too heavy and it totally distracts from the actual pattern and design of the quilt!! That's my 2 cents worth!!!
enjoy, di

Lovely hand quilting! I definitely need to practice more before I would consider adding hand quilting to a project.

Love, love, love your hand stitching! It looks so perfect and beautiful. I think the hand stitching enhances the beauty of the quilt.

Thanks for posting the survey Wendy, which I have just done. Quite fortuitous as I am hand quilting a small quilt for a swap.
In the early years of my quilting life I only did hand quilting, but now for speed I tend to get them machined. Sad really. I must start allowing more time, while my hands are still OK. :-)

I took the survey. I am not a full-blown hand quilter yet, but I hope to be one day.
