I've been quietly working away on my Tea Party quilt in the background.
I've now finished all 8 of the plainer blocks that will alternate with the tea and coffee cups.
Next up is the centre block which I might start this week. Strangely enough, I'm worried that I might stuff it up! I really want this quilt to be beautiful - I guess that's why it's taken me years to start it. I think I'll just prepare some flowers and leave them on my "design floor" for a few days before I start stitching them on.
I was the guest speaker at Rose City Quilters in Palmerston North on Monday night. It was a fabulous meeting, because not only did I get to share my quilts with the guild, but I also got to present the certificates and prizes from their exhibition at the weekend.
I'd gone to Palmerston North the previous Monday with Clare Smith and we had judged the Rose City Quilters Exhibition. It was great to see all the quilts up close, and it was quite difficult to determine the winners in some categories. Congratulations to everyone who won an award.

Your blocks are lovely and I'm sure those tea and coffee cup blocks will be beautiful. I know the feeling about wanting my quilt to be absolutely beautiful after all the work. That's why I don't like mystery quilts...I can't plan for my preferences. I, too, have a design floor. Just can't leave anything there very long. How nice to have been able to make a presentation to a quilt club. Would love to see those quilts and hear the accompanying stories Have a great weekend.
How lucky were Rose City members to have you as a guest speaker? I so wish I had known you were going to be there, I’d have taken myself along as a visitor.
The blocks you show above look exquisite. I can understand your worry but I have no doubt anything you do next will be just as beautiful.

Tea Party is coming along beautifully but looks like a marathon project, I have huge admiration for you taking on this one.
Your Tea Party quilt blocks are coming along nicely. I had to ask myself why the pattern has that name, and then I "saw" the tea party... from a drone perspective. The table is set with seating for four people! Got it! I can't imagine you "stuffing-up" anything! You'll make that center block perfectly, I just know it.
