Here's a few of the things I'm working on at the moment:
1. My Glitter quilt - pattern by Jen Kingwell from Amitie Textitles. I'm aiming to have all 152 blocks finished by the end of November, and then I can hand sew them together over summer. I haven't looked at them together since about April, so I hope the colours are all fine. I don't mind if I have to sew a few replacement blocks - that's bound to happen when I haven't got a design wall to monitor progress.
2. Kim McLean tapestry - I've started putting a few stitches into this tapestry each night too. I just love the vibrant colours Kim has chosen. I can't do tapestry for too long each day or it hurts my hands, so I just do about 30 minutes each night.
3. I'm also trying to finish my Gingerbread Needlework Shop so it can sit on my shelf at Christmas. It will become my number one priority when the Glitter blocks are finished.
4. I stitched this sashiko table runner back in January, but I only just fused the fabric circles on this week. I did a couple of simple rows of machine quilting on it, but now I want to apply facings to finish it. The pattern is by Indigo Niche from Australia.
5. I also started another table runner before I put away my Alison Glass fabrics. I've hand quilted this one, but again I want to finish it with facings. I've used a pattern by Christina Cameli. I'll post better photos when I finish it (which should be soon).
6. And then, because I'm a sucker for quirky cute things, I bought this pattern by Elizabeth Hartman for Norm & Nanette. I had one of those moments where you think you're just going to cut out some pieces so you can sew them together another day, but you end up just sewing a few together to see how it looks, and before you know it, you've made a gnome!
I'm not going to show my gnome yet, because he needs a few fix ups - I chose a checked fabric but it was a bit warped and the checks veer off at the sides. I have to correct it before I show it.
So that's some of my active WIPs. How's everyone else getting on?

I am making a dent in my WIPs. I should do a post on them. I have been pretty good about not buying more fabric. Wish I had a little elf quilter who could finish these off for me. The quilting is the hardest part ...
Nothing wrong with a few WIP's, but I'm guessing you're the type of person who wouldn't enjoy the amount I have in my cupboard!!
You make me dizzy Wendy! ❤️
You have a plan and a passion. I see your unfinished projects getting finished before the dust collects. It is good to see you are human, just a very talented human! The table runner with the Alison Glass fabrics is exciting to see. And the fact that you also can only do tapestry for short periods is inspiring me to get my cross-stitch done. (we won't talk about the pile of cross-stitch projects sitting waiting for someone to just start them.)
Lots of fun things and lots of variety too. I've been seeing the gnomes and think they are adorable. My goal for 2019 is to sew from my stash and finish some of my own UFOs since the pile keeps growing. My guild is doing a UFO challenge and this time round I'm going to commit so I have a little push to finish.
Wow, and I thought I had a few too many spoons in the pot! The whole point in finishing something is, like you said, to just pick one and do it. I think all quilters suffer from a bit of attention deficit disorder!
wonderful projects....i love the glitter quilt and anxious to see the cross stitch done as well...and i agree, difficult to choose when there are so many pretty unfinished things lying around....sigh....
All looking good Wendy. Like you said its just a matter of finishing them. I too am trying to do that, but its hard to choose what to do next, without getting sidetracked and starting something new!
You've shown so many beautiful projects and each one is more tempting than the last! As long as you are having fun, the finishing doesn't matter. As long as it stays a WIP it is still a potential for more quilting fun!
Oh Wendy. Don't beat yourself up over WIPs. We all have them! (Well, most of us do.) I'm sure I have more, but I don't WANT to dig into my closet to pull them out and be accountable. I think it's okay to work on what you want, when you want, and when it suits your own activities and inclinations. And you know how much slower hand work is than machine work. Looks like you do a gorgeous job with everything you set your hand to. I totally admire your dedication to the Glimmer blocks. When I first saw those (a couple years ago when someone else was making them), I bought the book and intended to make the quilt. After attempting to make a test block, I realized I was in over my head. Though I'm sure I could have done better if I'd bought the acrylic templates to cut out the shapes. Anyway, I think your Glimmer quilt will be outstanding. Now, be kind to yourself, and enjoy the process! :-)
