It's Giveaway time and it's hexagons

This giveaway is now closed.
True to my promise last week, it's giveaway time for my blog readers this week. I won't even mention this on Instagram, so that will increase your chances of winning.

I really appreciate the online friendships I've developed through blogging.  I now feel that I have friends all over the world.

So what's up for grabs?  These bright happy fabrics chosen especially for this giveaway, PLUS 50 hexagon shapes so you can try your hand at modern hexies.  You don't have to use these fabrics in a modern hexies project, but I would like to see you use the hexie templates - either for a modern hexies project, or traditional English Paper Piecing. Just a warning - some of these paper pieces have been used, but Paper Pieces make them so well that they can be used multiple times.  I always keep mine and recycle them.

Here's a reminder of what I made with just 31 hexies.

To get you started I'm providing a link here to Nicole's tutorial.  She's the expert at this technique, so you may as well learn from her.  The only thing I do slightly differently is create a template and trim my fabrics to hexagon size, plus a seam allowance.

This giveaway is now closed.

I’m not a fan of EPP (hand piecing my La Passacaglia with Inklingo shapes) but the modern hexies look like fun. I can also see those fabrics in my La Pass! :-)

What a great giveaway Wendy, you've really been Hemingway along! Those fabrics are lovely and would be s great bonus to anyone's stash.

I wish good luck to the entrants, please don't include me as I have many hex papers myself. Thanks for your generosity.

I have learned to do EPP for one of my current projects and have come to like it so I would do that. If they are not the same size as the ones I am using I have a feeling I would start another! Thanks for including your blog readers!

HI Wendy, It's been a while since I've visited or commented. Life has been a little crazy lately, preventing me from being in Blogland as often as I'd like. So glad I popped by today to see these hexie projects (below). I would love to try the modern hexie technique. Your fabrics are lovely and the papers would get one started. Please count me in!!

I would be most tempted to do EPP, and test whether my hands could handle that hand sewing. I love the look of all of the EPP quilts I see, would love to make one, and this would be a great test. In any event, the fabrics are fun, and colorful, and would definitely make it into one of my project.

Wendy, you are a big inspiration to me.

Hi Wendy, I love trying all kinds of new things! Recently I've started with the hexies and millifiore blocks...the modern ones sound like fun too! Lily K britei@shaw.ca

I am starting to love EPP...All year have been tacking small 1/2" hexies between jobs/ appointments in my new role as a peripatetic teacher. Instead of sitting and waiting in a school's Reception if I am a little early...I stay in the car, get out my little sewing bag and do one length of cotton..6 hexies...I now have a box full and my summer holiday job is to whip-stitch them all together!!
Best wishes for everyone's projects...I hope you get hooked like I am!
Wendy
