In the meantime, I thought I'd show you some of my canvas work. These designs have been worked in Perle 5, hand dyed silks, hand dyed ribbons, metallics, rayons and beads. They each measure 13" x 13" framed.
East meets West |
These were all designed by Jennifer Griffin and sold through Nancy's Embroidery in Wellington, New Zealand. I don't think they are available any longer, but Nancy's do have some similar canvas work patterns available here.

I love these designs. As usual, I've changed them up a bit and chosen my own colour palettes. In some cases I've painted the canvas myself too, because we can now only get white canvas in New Zealand and that wouldn't work for me. This is the one in my blog header photo:
Kaleidoscope Eyes |
I added an extra border onto this one to make it the same size as the other two. All three hang side by side in our hall way and I love the colour they add to our 'off white' walls.
Later in the week I'll show you another two I've made which were designed by Laura J Perin.

They are gorgeous xx
these are stunning Wendy, it's like modern quilting but in canvaswork, gorgeous.
Embroidery teachers give you homework even before you start the class!? Geez! They are harsh taskmasters!
I love these! Too bad they aren't selling anymore. A lot of effort goes into this and they are beautiful!
Talk about timely Wendy, I'm going to be taking a counted canvas class later this month. You've given me inspiration girl. Love, love, love the colour combinations and great framing with the coloured frames. Beautiful stitching girl :)
You are so talented! I could only imagine your home!!!! They are absolutely beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you very much LInda. (I've replied here because you are a no reply blogger.)
They really are lovely - it looks like a huge amount of work in each piece.
