Hello!! I'm back and I've got a finished top to show you.
I'm calling it Stone Flower because the fabric in the centre is the Stone Flower wide back by Kaffe Fassett Collective. Here's how it evolved over a short period of time back in April 2023.

I couldn't decide if I liked the green triangles pointing in or out, but I went with my original plan and have pointed them out. It feels like there's more green showing when I point them out and that's what I wanted.
Now it's finished and ready for long arm quilting. I've already got 4 quilts in my hand quilting pile so this one is going straight to the long arm quilter. I intend to use it as an everyday quilt. It will replace my very thin Kaffe jelly roll quilt that I made about 10 years ago.
You succeeded in bring out the green. I was especially pleased how you found a gray print for the third border that complimented the Stone Flower so well. I do like the strip quilt you are replacing. It is so colorful. It sounds like you are off to a great start this year.
ReplyDeleteYes a perfect choice for the green triangles, your balance of the white centre and lighter prints throughout each border adds too to the use of blues and greens. You must have quite a stash of Kaffe fabrics from what I see in your pics, wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI love green and blue together. My first quilt top is back from the long armer and I notice that even 20 years ago I liked blue and green together! Some of my blocks have that gorgeous turquoise/navy mix. Now to bind it. I'm glad you are back after your blogging break!
ReplyDeleteNice changes you made here and there with Stone Flower rather than sticking with the original in the KF book. I also think your everyday jelly roll quilt is great, even though it was made a number of years ago!
