Remember those fabrics I showed you last week? Well, I cut them up and made the world's fastest quilt pattern - the Swatch Quilt by Ruby Star Society.
I tweaked the measurements and pattern slighty because I wanted my quilt to be big enough to cover the top of a queen sized bed. I'm really happy with how it turned out. It's currently at the Busy Bee Quilt Shop for long arm quilting because I'm know it's going to be well used, and I prefer machine quilting for quilts that are going to be thrown on the floor. And hand quilting would just get lost amongst all of this pattern and colour.
Now it's time for the Peacock Party. Feel free to link up a recent blog post below.
It's always such a good feeling to make a quilt from the stash. The swatch quilt looks great and will be a wonderful bed quilt, happy stitching!
ReplyDeletemy top is getting closer and closer to a finish so I shared today - I recently found a pattern for a fast scrappy quilt that I might be making up soon - it is nice to do a really easy one now and then
ReplyDeleteThat is a bold one!! LOVE how the colors just pop and say - here I am!!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great color palette!!!
Fun quilt Wendy! Did you make it for yourself or someone else?
ReplyDeleteBold and pretty quilt, love it! Always nice to use fabric from our stash.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful new quilt finish. I’m sure it will get lots of use. Thank you for hosting the linky party
ReplyDeleteLike the boldness of the fabrics you picked from stash - I had seen the information about the Swatch quilt, thought about it and it's on the back burner for a few weeks, great inspiration seeing yours.
ReplyDeleteOh but it's refreshing to see an easy-to-make quilt with prints and colors that came together very effectively! You did a nice job with this one, choosing prints that look very good together. Even better that it was simply construction. No doubt it will be a good knock-around quilt. I can already picture it being used. Well done you!
