This week I bought some Christmas fabrics.
Well, one real Christmas fabric and some complementary fabrics to go with it. The skiing reindeer are called Jolly Season by Abi Hall for Moda. I bought mine from Stitchbird in Kilbirnie, and all the other fabrics in this photo are from there too.
I don't do a lot of Christmas sewing because Christmas falls in summer time in New Zealand, and we don't need quilts on the beds. I think the last Christmas thing I made was a table runner because the fabric was just so cute (sounds like a similar story to the fabrics above!).
I haven't decided what I'm going to do with the blue Christmas fabrics yet. Maybe I'll just think about them until November 2022, and make something for next Christmas.
In the mean time I've got these pretty Christmas quilts to keep me happy this year.

These quilts all reflect what Christmas is like here in New Zealand - bright and colourful.
Now it's time for the Peacock Party. Feel free to link up a recent blog post below.
I like your new Christmas fabrics. I like they're not the traditional fabrics, red & green. Your Christmas quilts are beautiful, Oh Christmas Tree is my favorite. Do you have your gingerbread houses out, they're so cute! Happy stitching!
ReplyDeleteI love the charm of christmas season and your quilts is lovely. Love the designs and work youve put in it.
ReplyDeleteI love your Christmas quilts - I know you live in an area that has hotter summers but you don't even use a light quilt in the summer - with the A/C running I always feel the need for something more than a sheet and always have a lightweight quilt on the bed in the summer.
ReplyDeleteOne of our favorite music artists is an indie folk artist from NZ (Holly Arrowsmith) and she has a line in a song about snow in July - we were so confused at first, until we realized that your winters are flip-flopped from ours! Anyway - I love your Flocks by Night quilt - so fun! Thanks for the little quilt parade!
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely holiday fabrics, Wendy and you quilts are so cheerful, festive and fabulous. Have a lovely weekend and happy quilting. Thank you for hosting the link party too.
ReplyDeleteYour Christmas quilts are beautiful. I especially love Oh Christmas Tree. Your new fabrics are fabulous. I know you will imagine a wonderful Christmas pretty from these.
ReplyDeleteGreat Christmas quilts. I especially Flocks by Night. The colors are really fun. Your Oh! Christmas Tree is wonderful. Did you do wool appliqué for the tree? Great job.
ReplyDeleteWonderful Christmas quilts, Wendy - so colourful and I love all of them; have a wonderful Christmas!
ReplyDeleteYes, you do have some Christmas quilts, and they're just lovely! I completely understand about not having Christmas quilts (for warmth) during your summer. Though it's winter here, weather in Florida is warm too. Gosh, it's supposed to be in the 80sF (26C) here this week! Perhaps you understand why I've never made a Christmas quilt, only a couple wall hangings.
